Mohun Bagan current scenario

Current position:

I-league 2019-2020 is almost 70 percent completed. And Mohun Bagan at this stage at the top of the league table with a breath taking 13 point lead from the second position team i.e. Minerva Panjab FC. Now Mohun Bagan has 35 points from 14 matches and Minerva at second position with 22 point from same numbers of matches,though Churchill has 20 pints from one less match. We can assume Mohun Bagan will be  league champion before the end of the season as remaining matches are with low positioned teams. But to win the league officially Mohun Bagan have to win two more games. You can see the point table here.

23 pass goal:

On the other hand Mohun Bagan's 23 pass goal against Churchill is being showcased by AIFF in various platform and they also praises MB coach Kibu Vicuna for his extraordinary effort.

FIFA WC Qualifier:

The 2022 FIFA WC qualifier is back to The Mecca of Indian Football,Kolkata as today AIFF approves Kolkata as qualifier match against Afganistan. The match will be conducted at VYBK Staium on 09/06/2020. Its a great opportunity for all the football lovers to gather again to support India.

 Today after winning against Aizawl FC , Mohun Bagan are with 39 points from 16 matches ,16 points ahead of second placed East Bengal who can not catch up their arch rivals Mohun Bagan in any ways in remaining 4 matches. Baba Diawara scored the winning goal in 80th minute to beat former champion Aizawl. Mohun Bagan won their first I-league title in 2014-15. Now Mohun Bagan jointly hold the record of wrapping up the league with maximum matches left to play with Dempo. It is the holi gift for all the mariners specially for about 25,000 spectator who witnessed their favorite team's league winning match. Now Mohun Bagan becomes 5 times champion in national league(including NFL,I-league). As Mohun Bagan is merging with ATK from next season we ended our last I-league with a championship.             GREEN MAROON REGIMENT        Green Maroon Regiment (GMR) is a Mohun Bagan A.C. fan base established in 2020. As you all know Mohun Bagan A.C. is a well known football club in India as well as in Asia. It is established in 15 August 1889 in Kolkata, West Bengal. Our national club of India is not only a club it is our emotion, it is our life. The club’s success is related to our freedom fight. Mohun Bagan’s most notable victory in history is winning the IFA Shield defeating East Yorkshire Regiment as a first Indian club in 1911. Currently Mohun Bagan is playing in AIFF & AFC certified I-League. Next season we are going to play the ISL for first time and here we are with great enthusiasm to start a new journey with our new fan base GMR. Mohun Bagan in I-League 2019-20

This year Mohun Bagan started in a very new way with new spanish coach Kibu Vicuna. We made a whole new team set up with some spanish flavour in our squad. We get some good player like Joseba Beitia,Fransisco Gonzales,Fransisco Morante,Daniel Cyrus,Colinas. But Colinus got injured and we got Komron Tursunov. Baba Cardiwara came in mid season in place of another striker. The Indian players gives a right companion to the foreigners. In indigenous squad we good ball player Nongdamba Naorem(often told as Indian Messi after iconic goal in previous season dribbling past 7 opponent player) along side Ashutosh Mehta,Shankar Roy , Lalramchullova,Shilton Paul,Shilton D'silva,Debjit Majumder,Sheikh Faiaz,Gurjinder Kumar,Dhanachandra Singh,Sheikh Sahil,Subho Ghosh,Britto PM,VP Suhair,Surabuddin Mollick and many more. As you all know we are under a 21 days lockdown  from 24 th midnight   along with about half of the global population due to COVID-19. Along with I-League 2019-20 all types of sports including India’s World Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers are postponed for unknown duration. Even the summer Olympics 2020 Tokyo is also shifted to 2021 in this pandemic.  European leagues planning to hold matches till the April end.   Mohun Bagan Athletic Club is decided to stand by with the government in this hard time. Mohun Bagan A.C. donated 20 lakhs to the West Bengal State Emergency Relief Fund to be used to combat the deadly corona virus pandemic.
