Champion officially
After a AIFF
executive committee meeting on April 21 it is declared that now Mohun Bagan is
officially the champion now.
Few hours
later club issued a press release in which they thanked everyone associated
with the success and also took a hand at arch rival East Bengal. All nine others
team accepted Mohun Bagan as champion except East Bengal. They are showing
fictional stories not to declare Mohun Bagan as champion.
Mohun Bagan
will receive one crore as prize money. And others ten teams will receive remaining
prize money is divided into equal parts which is about twelve lakh. There will
be no individual prize for players this season.
Our coach Kibu
has joined ISL side Kerala Blasters after cancelation of season. The merged
ATK-Mohun Bagan signed Subho Ghosh, which is almost sure shot. There is rumour
about Fran Gonzales to join also. The contract with the boss was for two years.
If Mohun Bagan release Gonzales they have to pay a fine. And in other side ATK
need a foreign mid-fielder. So boss may stay at Mohun Bagan for another season.
At a meeting
on 22nd April it is decided to run game on empty stadium. So the ISL
next season which is scheduled to start from September will be delayed by few
month. It is learnt that East Bengal is eager to file bid for ISL spot next season.
But East Bengal can only be at ISL next season if they pay the franchise fee. At
the same time there should be another team to file bid papers. Number of teams
in ISL should be in even number, so East Bengal alone can not join ISL.
In next ISL
there will be three round like Australian league. It is necessary to play 27
games to qualify for AFC Champions League.
